Job Title: Remote Technical Support Specialist (L1 / L2 Support)

DelegatesVA

Position Overview

We are seeking a tech-savvy, analytical Technical Support Specialist to assist our clients’ users with software troubleshooting, technical glitches, and product configurations. You won’t just follow a basic script—you will diagnose technical issues, replicate bugs, and guide non-technical users through step-by-step solutions with patience and clarity.

Core Requirements (The Minimum Baseline)

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Analytical Troubleshooting: A logical, systematic approach to diagnosing software, hardware, or network issues from scratch.

  • Technical Translation: The unique ability to translate complex technical jargon into simple, easy-to-understand steps for non-technical users.

  • Technical Written English: Exceptional written communication with a sharp eye for clear formatting (e.g., using bullet points and numbered steps in support emails).

  • Documentation Skills: Ability to clearly log support tickets with reproducible steps, system details, and diagnostics for our internal engineering or client teams.

Preferred Qualifications (The “Nice-to-Haves”)

Candidates who possess these qualifications will be fast-tracked:

  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a Technical Support, Help Desk, or IT Customer Support role within a remote setting.

  • SaaS & Software Familiarity: Prior experience supporting software-as-a-service (SaaS) products, mobile applications, or web hosting platforms.

  • API & Integration Knowledge: Basic understanding of web tools, APIs, webhooks, or browser developer tools (Inspect Element) to diagnose loading or data sync errors.

  • Ticketing Systems: Hands-on experience with technical queues in platforms like Jira Service Desk, Zendesk, Freshdesk, or Intercom.

Technical & Workspace Requirements

Because technical support often requires running diagnostic tools and handling real-time screen shares, the hardware baseline is slightly higher:

  • Hardware: A modern desktop or laptop computer with a minimum of an Intel i5 / AMD Ryzen 5 processor and at least 16GB of RAM (to handle heavy multitasking/virtual environments).

  • Primary Internet: A stable, high-speed wired internet connection (Fiber) with a minimum speed of 50 Mbps download and upload.

  • Redundancy (Crucial): A functional power backup system (UPS/Inverter) and a high-speed backup internet source to ensure zero drop-offs during critical system troubleshooting.

  • Environment: A completely quiet workspace for seamless screen-sharing sessions or internal video sync calls.
